Pat Ploshay has left South Africa and is living in  PARIS!!

Pat Ploshay is an interior designer turned European and  South African tour guide.  I thank heavens she has chose to spend much of her time with me !

What can I tell you about this wonderful lady? To say she is a successful hotel manager, interior designer, and restaurant consultant does not begin to tell you who she is.

Pat has been and done so many things since I have known her, it is hard to describe her.  Let me say that she has the most genuine heart of anyone I know.  She has held stingrays with me in the Carribbean and held our grandson - and just about everything in between.  She has put up with my stamp collecting and baseball cards all these years.  She has been the rock of the family as well as the spice of life.

Born in Pittsfield, MA into a GE family, she grew up in Huntsville, Alabama (where her folks have now retired - when they are home!). Luckily for me, she moved to Birmingham, Alabama, so I got to meet her.  Gotta give thanks for the best things that has ever happened to me!

We were married on Lookout Mountain in Fort Payne, Alabama on November 17 in a tiny but love-filled chapel built around the living mountain.  Yellow roses are her favorite, and they filled Howard's Chapel that day.  We left our contribution in the already well-stuffed bible on the alter.

Yes, there really are some places left where people would not steal money out of a bible.  I am sure there always will be, although they never get the press - and it is probably better that way.

We've been from June Jam with Alabama to the island of Mauritius.  She loves good music - and we have  recently added some wonderful South African favorites to our list.  She is an outstanding cook, although she has 'retired' from that arena in addition to giving up the 'W' word.  She makes homes beautiful and balances the checkbooks.

I am so proud she has chosen to be with me.......Pat is a frequent commuter to the USA, with many duties ranging from grandbaby hugging to coordinating her parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary, October  7, 2000 !  She gets around, and we have a little photo game page called 'Where's Pat?'.

Pat is proud Meme (pronounced 'may - may') to James Parker Richardson, who joined our family on August 22, 1998.

Daughter Kristie (a Registered Nurse) and Hubby Eric (another IT denizen) are well, and live in Douglasville, Georgia near Atlanta.  Parker is two years old now.   Lots of friends to play with in his family-oriented neighborhood too!
I salute Parker's parents, who rearranged their professional lives to allow one of them to always be with Parker.  Eric is the IS/Network guru of a legal firm, and Kristie is a Registered Nurse, pulling weekend duty in order to have the week to be with our Grandson.  I think Parker's great disposition is a direct result of his being surrounded by family all the time at this stage of his young life.

Son Kenny and his wife Stacey are settled into their new home in Alpharetta near Atlanta as well! No grandbaby yet , but we do have a young grand-puppy, Copper !  (Photo to follow)

Kenny entered the IS world after graduating from Auburn University.  He's recently completed his second 2 year assignment and moved into another area of the business.  Stacey works close to home, and although somewhat too busy of late, they are doing well!

By the bye, Kenny proposed to Stacy here in Paris, on the Eiffel Tower. Who said that romance is dead?

It constanytly amazes me how our kids can grow up as they have (Thanks given again!) while we haven't changed a bit!
